Using the Oximeter

An oximeter is a medical device that measures your blood oxygen level and pulse rate.

Most commonly, it is used on the finger to measure your blood oxygen level.

How to use an Oximeter?

Put your finger inside the probe clip

Press the "on" button

Wait a few seconds for the reading

SpO2 is your oxygen level. Don’t mix this up with your pulse rate.

The oximeter uses 2 AAA batteries.

Safety Information

  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Keep the oximeter away from dust, vibration, corrosive substances, explosive materials, high temperature and moisture
  • Do not operate oximeter if it is wet; wait for it to dry
  • Do not use the oximeter during MRI or CT scanning
  • Do not apply the oximeter to the same finger for longer than 2 hours at a time
  • Do not stare at the light emitted from the oximeter. The infra-red light is invisible and harmful to the eyes
  • Do not clean oximeter with high temperature or high pressure steam
