Singapore households have received more than 920,000 bottles of StayWell mouth gargle provided by Temasek Foundation, at the close of the self-collection phase of the mouth gargle distribution on 12 December 2021. This includes about 780,000 bottles delivered by Singapore Post earlier in October/November 2021 to the letter boxes of all households living in 1 to 4-room HDB flats.

The StayWell mouth gargle contains 1% povidone-iodine (PVP-I) as an active ingredient that is effective against a wide range of germs, including those that cause sore throat.

Temasek Foundation is heartened by the response from Singapore residents, and thanks its partners for supporting the mouth gargle distribution. They include Singapore Post for packing and delivering the mouth gargle bottles to 1 to 4-room HDB flats, managing the hotline, and sponsoring associated costs; SP Group for also managing the hotline; as well as Singapore Pools, Constellar, Frasers Property, City Developments Limited for providing venues and facilitating the self-collection of the mouth gargle, and Certis for special distributions.

Ms Woon Saet Nyoon, Chief Executive, Temasek Foundation Cares, said: “The COVID-19 pandemic, especially the new variant, has taught us we have to stay prepared and vigilant. In this new normal, every safety measure helps us to slow down or prevent the virus spread. Let’s rally each other to continue caring, practise social responsibility and observe mask-wearing and safe distancing, as well as maintain good personal hand and oral hygiene. We can do our part to strengthen our resilience against the evolving COVID-19.”

Temasek Foundation will be providing Singapore residents with one reusable mask each from 10 to 23 January 2022 via vending machines located islandwide. Temasek Foundation’s mask distribution exercises are part of its Stay Prepared initiative to help everyone continue to stay safe, as we move towards COVID-19 resilience. More details will be announced in early 2022.
